One of the wonderful privileges of being a Londoner this year was to witness the daily growth of the poppy remembrance exhibition at the Tower of London. On a sunny Saturday in August, Amandine Powell had the even greater privilege of volunteering, and contributing to something many believe will go down as one of this city’s most magnificent acts of remembrance.
We believe it was either George Washington, Plato, or Shaggy that said “Work hard, Play Hard”, advice Amandine took to heart, as the following day she visited the Notting Hill Carnival, an annual chance to fill our souls with music, food, and friends, and a chance to remember the city's diverse history.
With our immense gratitude, Amandine took her camera along to capture what was truly a weekend to remember.
